Ms. Marvel #14
High above a city skyline, Ms. Marvel streaks through the air in her striking red-and-black costume, desperately dodging a volley of white-hot rivets fired by the green-clad villain Steeplejack, who looms menacingly on a steel-girder structure in the background. The cover's own dialogue captures the urgency perfectly — she can't close the gap while the rivets keep flying, yet stopping him is personal. Dave Cockrum and Terry Austin deliver a kinetic, beautifully composed image that makes this 1978 installment of Chris Claremont's run feel like essential reading.
