Doctor Voodoo
Haitian-American psychologist Jericho Drumm returned to Haiti after his brother Daniel died under a voodoo curse, apprenticing under the houngan Papa Jambo to master voodoo sorcery. Bonded with Daniel's spirit, he became Doctor Voodoo — and eventually succeeded Doctor Strange as Earth's Sorcerer Supreme.
A mystical presence woven into the fabric of Marvel's Modern Age, Doctor Voodoo made their debut in New Avengers #12 (2010), brought to life by the powerhouse creative team of Brian Michael Bendis and Stuart Immonen. Across sixteen years and 77 catalog appearances, this character has carved out a meaningful place in Marvel's supernatural corner, most prominently gracing the pages of Strange Academy and Strange Academy: Finals — the publisher's rich exploration of mystic education and occult adventure. Sharing pages with the likes of Stephen Strange, Spider-Man, and Captain America speaks to a character who moves comfortably between Marvel's mystical and heroic worlds, and that one key-issue appearance marks a moment collectors genuinely take notice of. If you have a taste for Marvel's stranger, more arcane side, Doctor Voodoo is absolutely worth seeking out.

Trivia
- Doctor Voodoo's very name is a comparatively late Marvel branding move — the character spent the bulk of his existence as Brother Voodoo and only picked up the 'Doctor' title after stepping into the Sorcerer Supreme role vacated by Doctor Strange.marvel.fandom.com
- The rename wasn't mere cosmetics, either: Marvel anchored it to the genuinely unusual conceit that Jericho Drumm carries the ghost of his brother Daniel within him, turning the 'Doctor' identity into a literal in-story inheritance rather than a straightforward codename swap.marvel.fandom.com
