One World Under Doom #5

History

The 'One World Under Doom' event was conceived as a Marvel-line-wide status-quo shift timed to coincide with the theatrical release of 'Avengers: Doomsday,' with Marvel internally describing it as the most significant restructuring of the publisher's universe since the 2008 'Dark Reign' era. Editor Tom Brevoort shepherded the project, and writer Ryan North — whose prior Marvel credits include the Eisner Award-winning 'The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl' and a celebrated 'Fantastic Four' run that included a widely praised Doom-centric single issue — was chosen as architect of the entire event alongside artist R.B. Silva, whose reputation was built on 'Powers of X' with Jonathan Hickman and subsequent work on 'Fantastic Four' and 'Captain America: Symbol of Truth.'
