Doctor Strange #4

Doctor Strange raises a glowing blue cocktail in a cheerful toast with a red-caped woman in black — all smiles amid candlelit company — while an encircling menagerie of snarling wolves, skeletal beasts, and shadowy creatures closes in from every direction. It's a wonderfully unsettling contrast: a cozy social scene teetering on the edge of supernatural chaos, and the kind of tonal balance Jason Aaron brings to this series. Kevin Nowlan's cover linework gives the whole tableau a moody, storybook elegance that makes issue #4 genuinely hard to put back on the shelf.
