After Nightmare learns that Hercules has been resurrected, he is murdered by the Chaos King, which sets off a vibration throughout the Marvel Universe. When an enraged and empowered Hercules reappears, heroes gather to stop him but he is taken away by the Council of Godheads. Refusing to bow to their will, he returns to Earth and shares his newfound power with his friends so that they can confront the Chaos King in the coming battle.
