Thor looms with quiet authority on the cover of this 2008 Marvel series, his crimson cape sweeping dramatically behind him as a dark-cloaked figure kneels before the Asgardian god in what feels like a charged moment of confrontation or supplication. Penciler Olivier Coipel and inker Mark Morales bring a compelling weight to the scene, capturing Thor's composed, almost regal stillness against the tension radiating from the figure at his feet. J. Michael Straczynski's run was winning fans with its grounded yet mythic tone, and this fifth issue — titled "Special Delivery" — looks to deliver more of that same rich blend.
