The Flash #218
In "The Flash of 1000 Faces," a 1972 DC comic with a 20-cent cover price, the Flash confronts a mystery that blurs identity and illusion, set against a backdrop of personal transformation and hidden pasts. Written by Denny O'Neil and illustrated with striking detail by Neal Adams, with inks by Dick Giordano, the story unfolds with a tense, grounded pulse. The cover, a striking portrait by Nick Cardy, captures the issue’s central theme of duality and disguise.

As Green Lantern struggles to minimize the damage the bomb placed in Green Arrow's building does, Black Canary joins him. Elsewhere, Green Arrow abandons his old life and enters a monastery. Back home, while looking for traces of GA, Black Canary stumbles across the remnants of the racist cult of which she was once a member, now led by Sister Joshua. She is attacked by the cult members and thrown off a roof, but saved by the last minute appearance of Green Lantern.
