Aquaman and Hawkman share the spotlight in this January 1963 team-up from The Brave and the Bold, as the cover by Howard Purcell throws them headlong into a crashing ocean battle against a massive, wild-eyed green sea creature lunging from the waves. Hawkman swoops in from above while Aquaman is caught in the creature's grasp amid a surge of churning water — exactly the kind of cross-element threat the cover copy promises: "a mighty menace from the sea and the sky."
