The Amazing Spider-Man #28

Spider-Man swings straight at the viewer in a vertiginous low-angle shot, his red-and-black costume's spider emblem front and center as dark, tendril-like webs fan out against a cool blue Manhattan skyline below him. The cover pencils by John Romita Jr., inked by Scott Hanna, give the whole image a kinetic energy that makes the city feel both vast and precarious. With Mackie, Bennett, and Florea bringing "Distractions" to life inside, this 2001 issue is a satisfying entry in the wall-crawler's ongoing adventures.
