Sonic and Tails look genuinely alarmed on this June 2000 cover as a massive, serpentine sea creature towers over a crumbling cityscape — clock tower and all — behind them, courtesy of the pencil-and-ink team of Pat Spaziante and Harvey Mercadoocasio. The title "Menace To Society" says it all: whatever that colossal beast has in mind for the city, our two heroes are squarely in its path. With interior work from writer Karl Bollers and artist Steven Butler, this Archie Adventure Series issue promises the kind of globe-trotting, high-stakes trouble that keeps Sonic the Hedgehog running at full speed.
