Dr. Eggman
Dr. Eggman is the primary villain of Archie's Sonic the Hedgehog universe — a megalomaniacal scientist bent on world domination who serves as Sonic's arch-nemesis, deploying an army of robots and technological schemes to crush all opposition.
Few villains in Archie's Modern Age lineup made quite the impression that Dr. Eggman did when he debuted in Sonic the Hedgehog #82 in 2000, brought to life by the creative team of Ken Penders and Steven Butler. Over roughly 17 years, this scheming antagonist carved out a formidable presence across Sonic the Hedgehog, Sonic Universe, and Sonic Boom, racking up 52 catalog appearances alongside fan favorites like Sonic, Tails, Amy Rose, and Knuckles the Echidna. With at least one key collector issue to his name, Dr. Eggman is the kind of persistent, scene-stealing presence that gives any hero's journey its essential weight — and any Archie Sonic collection its essential menace.

Trivia
- Archie's Eggman stands apart from nearly every other iteration of the character by being given an explicitly expanded "family" of creations and artificial offspring — most notably A.D.A.M. — saddling the mad doctor with a bizarre pseudo-parental role no other version of the villain has ever explored.cbr.com
- Archie's run pushed Eggman into genuinely unsettling collector's-conversation territory with the introduction of the "Egg Grapes," a body-horror torture device that imprisoned victims and systematically drained their mental stability.cbr.com
- Ian Flynn has written more of Dr. Eggman's comics than any other writer in our catalog — 44 issues.
