Sonic the Hedgehog #3

Sonic and Tails burst off the cover of this October 1993 Archie mini-series installment in a blur of speed lines and pink smoke, with Sonic cheekily declaring they've checked the other comics on the rack — and this is the one you want. The "Va Voom!" sound effect at the bottom captures the duo's trademark energy perfectly, and Dave Manak's pencils (inked by Jon D'Agostino) give both characters a wonderfully expressive, cartoon-fresh look. With Michael Gallagher scripting "The Bomb Bugs Me!" and a full creative team including colorists Linda and Daryl America, this early chapter of Archie's Sonic run has plenty of personality to spare.
