Sonic the Hedgehog #288
Kicking off the "Genesis of a Hero" arc, Sonic the Hedgehog #288 arrives with a cover that's pure nostalgia fuel — classic Sonic leaps toward the reader with a confident thumbs-up, set against a bright, lush Green Hill-style landscape dotted with freed animal friends: a rabbit, a penguin, a bluebird, and a small chick scattering cheerfully around him, while one of Eggman's badniks looms ominously in the background sky. The cover art by Vincent Lovallo and Pat Spaziante radiates the spirit of Sonic's earliest adventures, fitting perfectly for a story subtitled "Where It All Began" and proudly bearing the Sonic 25th Anniversary seal. Ian Flynn writes, with interior art by Tracy Yardley, making this a well-assembled creative team for what promises to be a celebration of the Blue Blur's roots.
