Sonic the Hedgehog #24

The cover of Sonic the Hedgehog #24 says it all — "Evil Sonic Is Back!" — and the confrontation on display is delightfully chaotic, with Sonic squaring off against his dark-clad, sunglasses-wearing doppelganger while two versions of Tails grapple with chains between them and two versions of Sally face off below, one brandishing a spiked mace. Cover pencils by Dave Manak and inks by Jon D'Agostino give the whole scene a lively, kinetic energy that perfectly suits the mirror-image mayhem, with a leering Dr. Robotnik lurking ominously in the corner. This July 1995 Archie issue, with the story "When Hedgehogs Collide!", promises a doubles-themed showdown that fans of the series will find hard to pass up.
