Sonic the Hedgehog #187
The cover of Sonic the Hedgehog #187 says it all with a grin: "Sonic vs. Everyone (well, almost…)" — and Tracy Yardley delivers on that promise with a packed, energetic scene of Sonic sprinting away while a massive crowd of familiar Mobian characters, from hulking bears and armored soldiers to a glowering cat, a blue bird, a duck, and even a large purple bird looming in the foreground, closes in from every angle. It's a wonderfully chaotic snapshot that sets a fun, anything-can-happen tone for Ian Flynn's story "Mister Popular." If you enjoy Sonic's world at its most gloriously crowded and comedic, this 2008 Archie issue is hard to pass up.
