Savage Dragon #31

Few comics swing for the cosmic fences quite like this 1996 Image series. Erik Larsen's cover for issue #31 depicts a titanic brawl between a horned, red-skinned Devil and a long-bearded, robed God amid swirling flames and shattering debris — and silhouetted in the foreground, the Dragon himself watches the ultimate confrontation unfold. The bold "God vs. The Devil" banner across the bottom says it all: Larsen is leaning fully into the series' wild, anything-goes energy, and it's hard not to be swept along for the ride.
