Savage Dragon #258

Erik Larsen's long-running Image series brings something a little different to issue #258, subtitled "A Walk on the Wild Side." The cover — penciled and inked by Larsen — sets a moody urban scene on Halifax Street, where a towering tiger-headed figure in a leopard-print jacket leans casually against a lamppost, flanked by a smaller yellow-skinned, mohawked companion in a matching animal-print coat. There's a relaxed, street-level cool to the composition that makes this 2021 issue feel like a fresh detour through the Savage Dragon universe.
