Red Sonja is attacked by soldiers in the city of Gathia for bringing them bad news. Sonja does well in the fight until she is dropped into a pit where she faces an ogre who has never been beaten. After she beats the creature, the high priest of Gathia feels she is a woman straight out of prophecy as well as a fitting sacrifice for their ruler, The Celestial One. As he is purifying and preparing her for sacrifice, however, Fa begins to make secret plans of his own. Under the watchful gaze of the Celestial One, Fa sacrifices Sonja by stabbing her in the heart with a dagger.
