In "Chapter 2: Lick the Sky Crimson," Jason and Alexander return to the village only to set fire to Brutus’s house before fleeing, pursued by half the gorilla population. Their desperate escape leads them into the Forbidden Zone, where they stumble upon a hidden race of mutants enslaving others to construct enigmatic war machines.

In "Chapter Two: World of Captive Humans," Taylor—stranded and unable to speak due to a throat wound—must prove his intelligence in a world where apes rule and humans are enslaved. Through a simple act of writing his name on a scrap of paper, he challenges the prejudices of Dr. Zaius and earns a wary moment of doubt from Dr. Zira, setting the stage for a fragile, dangerous trust.
