Planet of the Apes #10
In "Kingdom on an Island of the Apes: Part II," Derek, a human survivor, ventures deep into ape-controlled territory, uncovering a web of betrayal when he witnesses General Gorodon assassinate City Administrator Xirinius. After subduing the general and reclaiming his stolen gear, he frees imprisoned humans and flees on a stolen horse-drawn cart, only to find it loaded with gunpowder barrels. With the forest behind him and a river ahead, Derek steers a makeshift raft toward a distant island, where he hopes to find sanctuary—though the true nature of the island remains unknown.
In "The Children of the Bomb (Ch. 5)," Brent is brought before Taylor, imprisoned by the fanatical bomb-worshippers who revere the atomic age. When one of them uses telepathy to force Taylor and Brent into a deadly duel, the tension reaches a breaking point—until Nova arrives, her voice cutting through the chaos. Her sudden appearance throws the cultist off guard, giving Taylor the opening to strike. The story unfolds with raw urgency, as survival hinges on instinct and unexpected alliances.
