New Comics #6
☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeFrom the summer of 1936 comes this cheerful slice of early DC history, its vivid red cover — by Whitney Ellsworth — capturing a freckled, wide-eyed boy clutching a bare fish skeleton on a line while a smug yellow cat with a halo sits nearby, clearly the guiltier party in this little fishing disaster. The tagline promises "Mystery! Thrills! Adventure!" and the interior delivers with work from writer H. Rider Haggard and artist Sven Elven, including the fifth chapter of "The Train Robbery." At just ten cents, New Comics #6 showcases the playful, anything-goes spirit of mid-1930s anthology comics at their most charming.
