When Marmaduke initially refuses, Louie sets out alone, leading Marmaduke to follow. The two encounter a statue that comes to life, resulting in a chaotic fight where Louie threatens to make Marmaduke pay for their predicament. Later, Marmaduke devises a scheme to outwit Louie by using a novelty store mask to frighten him into opening a closed establishment, ultimately leaving Louie stranded in the cold while Marmaduke escapes to warmth and safety.
