When the wind carries Prince Pinky and Pudd away on their kite, Marmaduke and Louie give chase to rescue them, leading to a confrontation with a bully who demands their valuables. Later, after a series of mishaps involving dirt and rocks, Louie uses a magnifying glass to focus the sun's rays on plants, hoping to make them grow faster and create a surprise tree for Marmaduke, but the experiment goes awry and sets a bush on fire.
Egbert Cluk thinks he's found an easy path to riches when he appears on a quiz show, correctly answering questions about Napoleon, the sewing machine, and more—but his streak of luck depends entirely on a mysterious gentleman standing behind him, Gulliver Watt. As Egbert pockets his ten-thousand-dollar winnings, he's blissfully unaware of just how much he owes to his silent partner's help.
