Harvey's beloved polka-dot enthusiast is in fine form on this September 1961 cover, where Little Dot climbs a ladder and aims a spray device loaded with colorful dots at a magnificent rainbow arching overhead — turning the whole sky into her personal canvas. Meanwhile, a sleeping figure below snoozes blissfully, completely unaware of the dotty transformation happening just above. It's a wonderfully whimsical snapshot of Dot's one-track-minded charm, and at a dime a copy, this was pure fun for young readers of the era.
