This special anniversary issue marks 30 years of the Legion of Super-Heroes with a cover by Ken Steacy that crackles with raw energy — literally. A figure in a blue-and-yellow lightning-bolt costume writhes amid arcing electricity while an enormous red-gauntleted hand reaches upward from below, the two forces locked in a charged and visually arresting confrontation. Published in April 1988 and kicking off "Unlucky Streak: Chapter One" with Paul Levitz writing and Greg LaRocque on interior art, this milestone issue is a fine place to appreciate just how much the Legion's world has grown over three decades.
