Jughead and Archie Double Digest #3
In "The Milkweed Lament," Jughead’s unorthodox take on chivalry takes center stage when he puts his beliefs into action—literally—on Archie and Reggie. Betty and Veronica, intrigued by the spectacle, try to recreate the moment by orchestrating a chase, only to find Jughead’s reaction is far more predictable than they expected. Written by Frank Doyle and illustrated by Samm Schwartz, with inks by Vincent DeCarlo, colors by Barry Grossman, and letters by Vincent DeCarlo, this Double Digest tale captures the classic charm of Riverdale with a playful twist. The cover, by Fernando Ruiz and Bob Smith, perfectly captures the comic’s lighthearted energy.

Jughead demonstrates his opinion of chivalry in a physical fashion on Archie and Reggie. Betty and Veronica like the effect it has and arrange for a boy to chase them and draw out Jughead to respond in the same fashion. However, Jughead knows the boy they have chasing them, so the plan fails.
