Written and illustrated by the legendary Jack Kirby, with inks by Vince Colletta and colors by Dave Tanguay and Drew Moore, this issue sets the stage for a war between New Genesis and Apokolips, as Orion, wielder of the Astro Force, is sent to Earth to stop Darkseid’s plan to conquer humanity through the Anti-Life Equation. The cover, penciled by Kirby and inked by Colletta, captures the grand scale of the coming conflict.
In "The Newsboy Legion!", Jimmy Olsen teams up with the street-smart Newsboy Legion and their Whiz Wagon as he investigates the Wild Area for a story assigned by his new boss, Morgan Edge. When Superman arrives after narrowly surviving an assassination attempt by Inter-Gang—orchestrated by Edge himself—the mystery deepens, drawing Jimmy into the enigmatic world of the Outsiders and their leader, Yango.
In "Evil Factory!", Superman teams up with Jimmy Olsen and the Newsboy Legion as they investigate The Project, a high-tech facility where the original Newsboy Legion now works as scientists decoding DNA to create clones. But when Darkseid’s agents Mokkari and Simyan send a twisted duplicate of Jimmy to infiltrate the compound, the line between ally and enemy blurs in a race to uncover the truth.
In *In Search of a Dream!*, the Forever People journey from New Genesis to Earth via a boom tube, seeking help from Superman to rescue their companion, Beautiful Dreamer, who’s been captured by Darkseid. The tyrant, misled by a dangerous rumor, believes she holds the key to the Anti-Life Equation, and now the team must race against time to free her before his plans come to fruition.
In "Orion Fights for Earth!", the mighty Orion, bearer of the Astro Force, is called to New Genesis by High-Father and guided by Metron to learn his destiny from the Source. Sent to Apokolips, Orion uncovers Darkseid’s plan to conquer Earth by mind-scanning every human in search of the Anti-Life Equation. With the help of freed captives—Lanza, Shane, Lincoln, and Lockman—Orion races to stop the invasion before it begins.
In "The Guardian Fights Again!!!", Guardian teams up with the Newsboy Legion and a reluctant Jimmy Olsen to unravel a tangled web of alien deception, where a look-alike of Don Rickles and a rogue UFO have trapped Superman in a cosmic trap. With Morgan Edge pulling strings from the shadows, the heroes must outwit Inter-Gang and a bizarre conspiracy that threatens to unravel the truth—before it's too late.
