Scott Free — bound head-to-toe in heavy rope and completely helpless — is surrounded by a mob of furious, gun-wielding strangers on the cover of this 1971 DC gem, with the blurb warning that five thousand raving maniacs stand between him and escape. Jack Kirby's cover pencils (inked by Vince Colletta) pack the composition with wild-eyed faces pressing in from every angle, selling the sheer claustrophobic menace of the situation. "The Paranoid Pill!" promises one of the more creatively unhinged escape-artist scenarios the Super Escape Artist has faced yet.
