Written by Robert Kirkman with art by Ryan Ottley and colors by Fco Plascencia, the issue was produced by the same core creative team that had been steering the series since its earliest issues — Kirkman plotting and scripting, Ottley on pencils, and Cliff Rathburn handling inks. Dinosaurus was co-created by Kirkman and Ottley, continuing their practice of designing new characters together within the book's ongoing monthly rhythm. The issue was published during a period when Kirkman was simultaneously shepherding The Walking Dead toward its television adaptation, making the Invincible monthly a proving ground for his most ambitious single-series superhero storytelling at Image.
