Invincible #56

Invincible looms with quiet authority atop a rooftop ledge, his blue and black suit sharp against a dramatic amber-clouded sky, gripping an inverted, clearly outmatched figure by the ankle. Ryan Ottley's cover composition does a lot with a little — the height, the dangling captive, and Invincible's calm confidence all suggest someone is having a very bad day at a very great altitude. Robert Kirkman's 2008 series was firing on all cylinders around this era, and this issue looks like a fine place to be along for the ride.
