Solomon Grundy looms large on this June 1987 cover, his pale, snarling face filling the frame as his massive hands clutch a circular vignette containing several Infinity Inc. heroes — a caped figure in red and green, a green-skinned woman, a figure in blue, and another in yellow. The composition, penciled by Michael Bair and inked by Tony DeZuniga, does a fine job of conveying Grundy's raw menace while hinting at the team caught squarely in his grip. "The Saga of Solomon Grundy" promises a story with real weight behind it, and this striking image sets the mood perfectly.
