Written by Mark Waid and illustrated by Barry Kitson, the story pits Barry Allen and Hal Jordan against a rogue's gallery of villains including Gorilla Grodd, Sinestro, and the Shade, while also exploring the legacy of their predecessors Jay Garrick and Abin Sur. The volume collects the entire six-issue run of the miniseries, offering a modern take on the dynamic between the speedster and the Emerald Gladiator.
In "Those Who Worship Evil's Might," Flash confronts a haunting personal loss as he teams up with Hal Jordan in a high-stakes battle of wills and willpower. When the original Star Sapphire awakens Carol Ferris' gem to exact revenge on the Zamorans, Flash must push through his grief to sever the psychic link binding the two Star Sapphires to their power source. Written by Mark Waid and Tom Peyer, with dynamic art by Barry Kitson and vibrant colors by Lovern Kindzierski and Digital Chameleon, this 2001 issue delivers a gripping, emotionally charged tale with a pivotal moment in the Star Sapphire mythos. Cover by Barry Kitson.
