Crazy Magazine #58

Marvel's madcap humor magazine rings in January 1980 with a "Super Special" that's hard to miss — the cover spotlights a giant reproduction of Crazy #1, held aloft between two caricatured figures while a bumbling superhero in a red costume scrambles on one side and a sinister shadowy character lurks on the other. The bonus alone is a genuine draw: the original Crazy Comic Book No. 1 included as a free 32-page insert, alongside a promise of 80 pages of the "craziest, most insane material" from the magazine's back catalog. Cover art by Bob Larkin and Marie Severin gives the whole thing a sharp, playful energy that captures exactly the kind of affectionate Marvel mockery Crazy did so well.
