In "Me, Ghost," a haunting tale from Classic Monsters of Pre-Code Horror Comics: Ghosts #nn, a reporter named Ken is drawn into a chilling mystery when a female ghost—visible only as a wisp of pipe smoke—warns him of danger at the Scarlett Acres plantation. With the help of Honey, the murdered sister of the estate's owner Hugh, Ken devises a plan to expose the truth and unleash her long-suppressed vengeance. The story unfolds with eerie precision, its atmosphere thick with dread and secrets, all rendered in the distinctive, shadow-drenched style of artist Kenneth Landau. The cover, a striking collaboration by Matt Baker, Ken Bald, and Al Avison, captures the story’s gothic mood with vintage flair.

Reporter Ken is told by a female ghost--who appears in a cloud of pipe smoke--to visit the Scarlett Acres plantation. Owners Hugh and Sonia plan to murder Ken, but the ghost, Hugh's sister Honey, warns him. She says they murdered her and buried her in the tobacco fields. That's why she appears in smoke. To help Honey avenge herself, Ken tricks Hugh and Sonia into burning a barnful of tobacco. This gives Honey the power to destroy her murderers. Honey can now rest in peace.
