☆ Be the first to review + Add to your collection — Join freeThis anthology issue contains four stories: "Jury of the Undead," in which the living stand trial before skeletal judges; "The Green Witch," involving a woman named Dorothy and supernatural threats in Paris; "Return of the Corpse," set in fog-shrouded Bristol where a morgue keeper watches over wrapped bodies displayed for sale; and an untitled story featuring a woman named Sandra who causes trouble at a party, then argues with her husband Scott before going for a reckless drive that ends in a crash.
In the grim aftermath of a brutal hanging, the vengeful ghost of John Stone returns to confront Judge Tobias Penton, dragging him through a nightmare journey to a secret prison cemetery. There, the judge is forced to face a spectral jury of the men he condemned, each one demanding justice for their wrongful deaths.
In the shadowed streets of Paris, rejected by the woman he loves, scientist Lester Parke spirals into obsession after being called an ape—prompting a chilling revenge. He acquires the corpse of a gorilla and, using the brain of a recently deceased imbecile, begins a grotesque experiment to transform the beast into a living embodiment of his torment. As the creature takes form, Parke's twisted ambition blurs the line between man and monster, setting the stage for a horror that defies both flesh and reason.
In the fog-laden streets of Bristol, a weary sailor named Jo finds shelter with the reclusive morgue keeper Jasper Biggs, who offers him a bed for the night. As Jo sleeps, Biggs prepares to murder him, selling the body to a mysterious client seeking a corpse to claim an inheritance. But when the sailor awakens—changed and vengeful—the roles reverse in a chilling twist neither man expected.
In the eerie town of Salem, newlyweds Andy and Sandra Jones begin their life together in a house built near the site of the old witch gallows—unaware that the rotting stake buried beneath it once held the body of Old Bess, a long-dead witch whose spirit is now stirring. As Sandra begins acting strangely, her behavior growing increasingly erratic and cruel, Andy starts to suspect something unnatural is at play, especially when he recalls pulling the very stake that bound the witch centuries ago.
