“He's No Super-Hero”

Issue #12 of DC's Blue Devil arrives in May 1985 with a cover by Paris Cullins and Gary Martin that packs in a whole lot of personality — a close-up of a very exasperated Dan Cassidy muttering "Aww — No!!" dominates the left, while the blue-skinned, horned Blue Devil strides forward trident in hand against a backdrop of flames and chaos. A placard on the right announces a guest appearance by Etrigan the Demon alongside a "shocking villain," and framing devices throughout the image tease supporting characters and past adventures, painting a vivid portrait of just how crowded — and entertaining — Cassidy's world has become.
