“The Switcheroo!”

In "The Switcheroo!", Ethel's low spirits over being left out of the dance start to weigh on her game, prompting Betty and Veronica to pull a playful prank—coaxing Jughead into asking her, only for him to be distracted by the snack table. When a mysterious transfer student steps in and asks Ethel to dance, Jughead finds himself scrambling to keep her from choosing the new boy over his own plans. Written by George Gladir and brought to life by Fernando Ruiz with inks by Rudy Lapick, this Double Digest issue delivers classic Archie charm with a twist of teenage drama.

Ethel feels blue because nobody has asked to the dance, and her mood is affecting her basketball performance. Betty and Veronica blackmail Jughead into asking Ethel to the dance, where he ignores her in favor of the food. A tall transfer student ends up asking Ethel to dance, causing Jughead to worry that she will go to Veronica's party with the new boy instead of him.
