Spider Spry makes nets and lassos, and swings like a spider. He sends a scuba crook to rob jewels from a freighter. Orphan Tommy Troy had read of "Waterfront Thefts". The Fly investigates, but a bright flash "upset his equilibrium" (his weakness). He falls in the water and hitches a boat ride. He battles Spider Spry in his water tower hideout, shooting his buzz gun, escaping a "web" (net). He leaves Spider hanging for the police and returns him to chop wood.
