“All Archie's Girls”

In "All Archie's Girls," new school newspaper editor Jennifer Mills dives into a high-stakes gossip column that spirals beyond the usual teen drama. When a few offhand comments from Marcy are twisted into scandal, Jennifer takes things further—using a hidden listening device to uncover a major corporate takeover tied to Veronica Lodge. Written and illustrated by Dan Parent, with inks by Jim Amash, colors by Barry Grossman, and letters by Teresa Davidson, this 2016 issue sees the familiar Riverdale cast entangled in a story that blurs the line between school news and real-world intrigue. The cover by Fernando Ruiz and Bob Smith captures the tension with a sharp, stylized look at the girls at the heart of the unfolding drama.

Jennifer Mills, the new editor on the school newspaper, decides to do a gossip story on Veronica using quotes from Marcy taken out of context. When that doesn't prove to be enough, Jennifer places a listening device on Marcy and gets inside information on the Lodge Corporation taking over a national coffee-house franchise. The deal is worth millions. She then decides to leak that information in the school newspaper as well.
