In "You Too Can Be a Super-Hero!", Superboy saves a red-haired girl from drowning during a summer visit to the countryside with her brother. When the mystical Crystal of Mordru—still in his possession from a past adventure with the Legion—responds to her wish to become a superhero, her dream takes an unexpected turn. At a campfire, as Clark and Pete try to scare the kids with a ghost story, the girl suddenly transforms into Machtgirl and attacks the "ghosts"—leaving everyone stunned.
