R. M. Guéra
1959–
Rajko Milošević, known professionally as R. M. Guéra, was born on November 24, 1959. A Serbian comic book artist and illustrator, he has made his home in Barcelona, Spain, since 1991. Guéra is best recognized for his gritty, textured artwork on the Vertigo series *Scalped*, collaborating with writer Jason Aaron. His career began in the Yugoslav comics scene in 1982 with the western series *Elmer Jones*, written by Dragan Savić, followed by *Texas Riders* in 1984. The nickname "Géra" dates from childhood; he adapted the spelling to "Guéra" upon moving to Spain to match Spanish pronunciation. His work has appeared in France, Spain, and the United States, including the French series *Le Lièvre de Mars* with writer Patrick Cothias. Over his career, Guéra has contributed to over ninety issues, with notable credits including *The Goddamned*, *Django Unchained*, *Batman Eternal*, and *Jour J*. His style—marked by heavy inks, expressive linework, and a raw, atmospheric quality—has made him a sought-after collaborator in crime, western, and historical genres. He continues to work from Barcelona, maintaining a steady presence in the industry since the 1980s.
