The Goddamned #5

The fifth and final chapter of The Goddamned's "Before the Flood" arc arrives with a cover by R. M. Guéra that's as haunting as anything the series has offered — a massive, white-haired figure dominates the composition, looming over a desolate landscape where a pale, slight figure stands alone amid what appear to be enormous skeletal claws and the remnants of the dead. Giulia Brusco's coloring bathes the scene in sickly greens and muddied golds, lending the whole image a sense of ancient, unrelenting dread. Jason Aaron's biblical-era world has never looked more foreboding, and this closing issue promises to be a grim, visceral conclusion.
