Scalped #48

Jason Aaron and R. M. Guéra's Scalped was one of Vertigo's most compelling crime series, and issue #48 arrives at the penultimate chapter of "You Gotta Sin to Get Saved." Jock's cover is quietly unsettling — a delicate spider's web fills the foreground while a blurred, outstretched hand presses urgently from behind, a small spider perched at the web's edge as if standing watch. That image of something fragile stretched between the viewer and a shadowy, grasping figure sets a perfect tone for a story whose very title asks whether honesty is enough to survive.
