The second chapter of Jason Aaron and R. M. Guéra's brutal biblical series plunges deeper into a primordial world where humanity at its worst holds sway. Guéra's cover — colored by Giulia Brusco in cold blues and visceral reds — dominates with a massive, grey-skinned figure looming over a tangle of snarling, blood-drenched brutes, a gore-slicked blade arcing through the foreground while a bleak, spike-littered landscape stretches behind them. "Before the Flood" has never looked more genuinely savage, and this 2015 Image series continues to make the antediluvian world feel like the most dangerous place ever put to paper.
