Scalped #3

Jason Aaron and R.M. Guéra's Scalped wastes no time establishing its unforgiving tone — this third issue closes out the opening "Indian Country" arc with a cover by Jock that's as stark as a winter morning. A body lies face-down in the snow, a spreading pool of red the only color in an otherwise bleached landscape, while two figures huddle nearby and a small, distant group watches from among bare, skeletal trees. It's a haunting image that captures the series' blend of reservation noir and raw human cost.
