Laurence Campbell
1969–
Laurence Campbell, born in 1969, is a British comics artist whose sharp, atmospheric style has made him a steady presence in both British and American comics. He first gained notice in the 1990s working for the seminal anthology *2000 AD*, where his detailed linework and moody storytelling suited the magazine's gritty sci-fi and horror tales. Campbell later expanded into American comics, earning particular acclaim for his work on Mike Mignola's *B.P.R.D.* universe, notably on *B.P.R.D. Hell on Earth* and *B.P.R.D.: The Devil You Know*, where his ability to render both grotesque monsters and weary human faces added depth to the series. He also contributed to Marvel projects such as *Deadpool Pulp* and *Marvel Universe vs. Wolverine*, bringing a grounded, noir-inflected touch to superhero material. Known for his meticulous inking and lettering as well as his penciling, Campbell often collaborates with writers like John Arcudi and Scott Allie. His career, spanning over three decades, reflects a commitment to craft over flash, and he remains a respected figure among fans of horror-tinged adventure comics.
