The first issue of this 2011 Marvel limited series sets up a striking premise right on its cover: a crouching, claws-extended Wolverine faces down a massive wave of Marvel's heavy hitters — Captain America, Storm, Thor, the Hulk, Iron Man, the Human Torch, the Thing, Daredevil, and more — all bearing down on him with unmistakable aggression. Michael Kaluta's cover pencils and inks give the composition a dynamic, almost overwhelming sense of scale, with Spider-Man's hands and the Hulk's bulk looming large above the fray.
