From writer Gregg Hurwitz and artist Laurence Campbell, this 2008 Marvel MAX entry finds Frank Castle at his most grimly purposeful — skull emblem on his chest, baseball bat in hand, striding forward between two massive, bloodied figures whose bound wrists frame him on either side. A giant skull looms across the blood-soaked ground beneath his feet, making the cover's tone unmistakably clear. Dave Johnson's striking cover composition turns "Girls in White Dresses, Part 2: Another Day in Paradise" into a visceral visual statement that captures the MAX line at its unflinching best.
