Drawn from the rich mythology of the Hellboy universe, this second issue of The Sword of Hyperborea presents a genuinely unsettling cover: a snarling, red-furred werewolf clutches a glowing golden blade while three blank-masked figures in formal attire lurk behind it, all bathed in the eerie glow of an oncoming locomotive. Looming large in the composition is a composed, dark-haired woman framed by delicate flowers — her calm expression a striking contrast to the menace surrounding her. Mike Mignola and Rob Williams are crafting something atmospheric here, and Laurence Campbell's moody linework, colored with Quinton Winter's deep purples and smoky shadows, makes this one easy to linger over.
