Klaus Nordling (May 29, 1910 – November 19, 1986) was an American comic book writer and artist best known for his stylish work on the 1940s masked-crimefighter feature *Lady Luck* and as co-creator of the Marvel Comics superhero the Thin Man. Born in 1910, Nordling entered the comics industry in the early Golden Age, contributing to titles such as *The Spirit*, *The Barker*, *Smash Comics*, *National Comics*, and *Exciting Comics* across roles as artist, colorist, inker, letterer, and writer. His signature clean linework and dynamic storytelling defined *Lady Luck*’s adventures, and he occasionally worked under pen names including Fred Nordley, F. Klaus, Ed Norris, and Clyde North. Nordling’s collaborations with writers and editors of the era helped shape the masked-crimefighter genre, though his co-creation of the Thin Man—a durable, stretchy hero—remains a lasting Marvel footnote. He remained active in comics through the 1940s and into later decades, with credits spanning until 2017 in reprint collections. Nordling died in 1986, leaving behind a body of work that exemplifies the pulp energy and visual flair of mid-century American comics. While major industry awards are not recorded in his biography, his contributions to early superhero and adventure strips continue to be recognized by historians and collectors.
